Family Run
Kristi Bifulco & her husband Jesse run the B&B, and, - their kids help out too. They began hosting guests at 6 High Street, in Camden ME in 2005, although the Windward House has been a Maine lodging since 1985. The Windward House prides itself on being a traditional B&B. It is the home of a family, parents and three children, who live there and host their guests. Kristen and Jesse greet the guests, give them area information, help with reservations and getting them settled in, and cook and serve breakfast in the morning.
The Windward House is also in a real sense a “green” hotel. It is so because it has applied for and been certified as a Maine Green Leader in Hospitality. This certification awarded by the State of Maine is based upon actual renewable sustainable and green practices. The Windward House was one of the only local lodgings actually audited for compliance with the Green Leader in Hospitality program and has passed with flying colors. Windward House Accommodations
With 8 guest rooms, the Windward House is located in the heart of Camden Maine. All of our rooms come, complimentary, with Camden’s only B&B full menu breakfast and afternoon tea with home made baked goodies. Even though this is an historic 1854 house, we include all amenities, in addition to private baths in all rooms, all rooms have air conditioning, cable television and free WiFi.
Quarterdeck Suite
The Quarterdeck Room is one of the most distinctive Bed and Breakfast Rooms in downtown Camden. Considering it’s size amenities and easy walking distance to all Camden attractions, Quarterdeck is a great value as well!
Elijah Glover Room
Period Decorated Second Floor Room. This quaint room on the second floor of the main house is named for the Windward House’s builder, Elijah Glover, a shipbuilder and lumberman.
Harbor Carriage Room
This is a ground floor private entrance room. The Carriage room is the bottom of the barn where traditionally the carriage was kept. It is a large wide room. There is a beautiful king size bed, private bathroom with claw foot tub and separate standing shower..
Crows Nest Suite
A cozy third floor room in the eaves of the house. It's a little small, and the ceilings get low as you move toward the wall - as in the picture, but what a great rate for a room so close to the village!
Coastal Garden Room
This is a ground floor room that opens into the garden of the Inn. Private entrance from side of house. The room is comfortable and warm.
Windrose Suite
This is a private 2nd floor 2 room suite. It has a sitting room and a bedroom. In staying with the Ship theme of the Inn, this room is named a Windrose to represent the instrument that meteorologists use to tell wind speed and direction.
Chart Room Suite
This ground floor room is named the Chart Room giving it the honor of being the Captain's cabin. It is a grand 2 room suite. There is a bed room and a sitting room with a private bathroom that has a shower tub combination, the tub being a jacuzzi.
Brass Room
This comfortable 2nd floor room is named for the brass bed it has. This room has a private bathroom with shower. There is a large private deck that overlooks the Inn's gardens..

Our American Traditional Breakfast Menu features fresh local Maine ingredients and traditional comfort foods made from scratch. You can choose to sit alone or with others. Each morning the dining room is aglow with the morning sun and candlelight. The only Bed and Breakfast in Camden that offers you choices in the morning! Windward House Location & Directions
From the Boston Area:
Take 95 to Maine follow the signs for I-295 North, Portland.
Take I-295 North. Take Exit 28, (Coastal Route 1/Bath
Follow Route 1, North, until you reach Waldoboro. Just passed Waldoboro, you will see a sign for Route 90 (Camden Road, Route 90). Turn Left at Route 90
Follow Route 90 to where it intersects with Route 1 again. Turn Left and follow Route 1 North.
Stay on Route 1 North for about 2 miles. After passing through the center of Camden you will pass the Camden Public Library on your Right. Bear right on Route 1 and look to your left. You will see the Windward House, which is the third house from the corner of Route 52 and Route 1.
Turn left into our driveway, come to the front door, which is not the door on the porch, but the larger door under the flag. It is at the end of the path leading from the driveway. Please ring the front doorbell before entering the house.
From the Augusta Area:
Take Route 17 south until you reach Route 90. Take a left onto Route 90 and follow it until you reach Route 1. Take a left onto Route 1 heading north and proceed into Camden.
