Rockland Ferries & Water Taxis - passenger service to the islands of Penobscot and Muscongus Bays

camden map image The Rockland Maine region offers a number of privately-owned and state operated boat passenger ferry services to the local islands of Penobscot Bay. For example, the Maine State Ferry Service located in Rockland and Lincolnville provides year-round fixed-route car and passenger ferry service from Rockland to Vinalhaven, North Haven and Matinicus Islands, and from Lincolnville Beach to the island of Islesboro.

We have included listings for passenger service from outlying ports near Rockland for islands near Penobscot Bay such as Monhegan Island in Muscongus Bay. Monhegan Island is notable because it is the most famous island in Maine. These outlying ports such as Port Clyde, Boothbay Harbor and New Harbor are within a 30-to-45 minute drive of Rockland and Rockland Harbor and are also located near many Midcoast Maine attractions.
